Particular - Can particles repel each other?
on Oct 1, 2009 at 4:02:30 pm

I'm looking to have a group of particles all moving independently, but arranged so that they never overlap. Is this possible with particular or should I look at something like form instead? I basically need them to behave and move like a particle system, but never overlap one another, so each particle is always fully visible. Thanks,

Scott

Not sure of what you really want. You can set up particular to emit particles based on a grid you setup. As long as you dont have any divergence set up or turbulence, and set the emitter to directional, they should not overlap. Same type thing you can do with form. Is that what you want, particles in a formation all flying through space on the same plane?

I am looking for a similar solution. I have box emitter emitting words.
I would like them to generate randomly, but when they generate on top of each other it's hard to read. This is why I'm looking for a way to have them not overlap.
