Stopping particles in Particular
on Sep 1, 2009 at 10:03:57 pm

I am admittedly a lousy Particular operator, but I'd like to get my particles to "explode" and then stop/freeze-- a sort of 3-dimensional ink splat. Here's a ref. of what I'd like it to do:

Even when adjusting physics time factor, I still get drift. Any help would be appreciated.

THANKS!!!!

You can use 2 things. First, you can use physics time factor, as you mentioned. Make sure it gets keyframed to 0, not negative. This will stop all movement - there should be no drift. The other thing you can do is turn up air resistance - this will stop particles assuming the number is set high enough.

Best,

Mike
