Particular : Random Rotation of Particles?

Is there a way to make the particles rotation and/or rotation speeds a random integer? It looks really cheesy for them to all rotate at the same speed and all identically rotating together.

Not that I know of, other than duplicating the layer and setting up multiple emitters with varying rotation speeds. I know this is a pain, but it looks like the only way to vary rotation.

Best of luck

Actually there is a way, although it's a bit elusive.

Go to the Particular Solid layer, and create an expression for the Rotation value in the particle section. Then paste this or make your own and hit enter.

random(0,360);

This will start each particle in a random rotation from 0 degrees to 360 degrees. However, the speed is still the same. To make the speed random, create an expression on the Rotation Speed value and use something like this.

random(0,2);

Pretty much the same expression for the Rotation above but the values are smaller. You might even want to make 0 more like .1 or .2 to make sure they all spin a little.

Enjoy!
