Many particles making up a Logo
on Dec 1, 2007 at 6:14:57 am

I'm looking for a tutorial or any place where I can find info on how to use particular to create a look of many led's or lights making up a logo. One example of what I'm looking for is found in the first sequene of the Belief Zoom Id breakdown located here: About 1/4 of the way through you will see the words Zoom Looking like it is made up of many shining lights. I believe they did this with particular and I'm just looking for a way to create a similiar effect. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Use a Layer Grid emitter with the logo layer.

I'd set the pre-run (in the options) to 100, and then keyframe particles per second to 0 in the first couple frames. Then, extend the life of the particles so they don't die out.
