Keyframing not working CS3, MacIntel?
on Sep 14, 2007 at 4:18:24 am

I'm doing a project where i've held a load of particles (phone icons) in 3D space, by using Box and reducing the initial birth rate from 30 to 0 with one keyframe, and turning velocity to 0. Later in the animation i want the particles to fly off, i've tried to animate their position or the velocity, but nothing happens when i do more than one keyframe! If i create more than one keyframe on, say the velocity, ramping it up from 0 to 200, nothing happens, the particles stay at their 0 position. What's happening, is this a bug? I'm on CS3 on a Mac Intel.

That is because Velocity is assigned at birth time. Any new particles born after your keyframe will get the new initial velocity but any old ones will not be affected.

You could possibly try using Physics Time Factor instead.
