Custom particle sampling (Particular)
on Jul 24, 2007 at 9:41:39 am

Hi,
I've set up particular to generate custom particles sampled from another comp (time sampling = still frame)

The emitter is set up to generate 3000 particles in frame 1 and then at frame 2 it is set to 0 - this way a set of particles is generated and then they "float around".

The problem is that the particles seem to be sampled only from the beginning of the comp that holds the various particle stills.

Say I have a comp 50 frames long, holding 8 layers of variously rotated stills - the emitter will sample only the first 20 frames or so.

Is there a limit to the layer that the time sampling option uses?

Thx,
K.

there is no such limit. In this case I think the problem may be that the custom particle comp needs to start at the same frame (exactly) as the particle layer. Zoom in in the timeline and align them

Thanks, Peder.
The custom particle layer was shy-ed away and I did't notice the misalignment.
