match moving and trapcode
on Jun 1, 2007 at 4:02:18 am

I have used boujou as well as pftrack to motion track a scene so i can take it into after effects and use particular. The problem is i'm doing something wrong because when i add the particular layer its all out of wack for both imports .ban and .ma So i don't know if somebody has simple step by step tutorial on this but i would appreciate it very much

Thank You

I remember doing a .ma track import, I was using SynthEyes to make the .ma file but maybe it is the same; I was getting numbers in a very tiny range, like 0.0 to 3.0, this does not work well in AE since it uses pixels as units, so I got everything crammed into 3 pixels. So I ended up parenting everything to a 3D null and scaled that up to get more pixel-like coordinates. Worked great.

Come to think of it, if you plan to use Trapcode Particular, you may be better of doing the scale up in Maya, I'm not sure if effects can "see" the scale null inside AE.
