simulating change in water pressure?
on Nov 13, 2006 at 10:25:44 pm

I am trying to replicate a real world situation where a jet of water is being fired out of a toy. As the jet finishes, the pressure drops and the arc of water reduces and falls off to nothing.

I have managed to get the jet under pressure looking right, but i cannot figure out how to change the pressure behind the emitter to give a usable fall off. I've tried lowering the velocity settings but that just seems to lower the speed.

Any ideas how this can be achieved?

keyframe down the velocity & particles/sec parameters should do it. you are using phyics>gravity already? if not, try it.

Thanks Peder,

Reassuring to know I was already on the right lines but i think i needed to be more aggressive with my parameter changes. Its looking much more acceptable now.

thanks again.
