is there a way to get less than 1 particle per second in particular?

if i type in 0.2 it gives me 1. is there a way to do this?

No and I'm not sure if somewhere ou there is a particle system that would allow this - it's a mathematical paradox that cannot be solved easily (with cheating, that is). In your case you should try to slow down your comp/ footage by increasing the framerate or time-stretching your footage and once you have all your stuff set up, speed it up to normal playback speed again.

Actually, the answer is YES.

Just click "Particles/sec" and type in the value numerically. (you can type 0.1 or 0.01 or whatever).

It really does? Never even noticed that. ;O) but then again, I'm usually working more towards the opposite end of the scale...
