Trapcode Shine - banding or compression issue?
on Jul 20, 2006 at 10:01:15 pm

I am getting an awful lot of what looks like banding when I render out some animated text with Shine added to it. Anyone run into this? I am working on Final Cut and thought that maybe it had to do with my AE render settings. But even after rendering it out at the best resolution possible and importing it into Final Cut, it still looks like that.

Basically, is there a setting I am missing in the effects panel for Shine that smooths this look out? Or is this some sort of compression setting either in FCP or my AE render?

any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

Have you tried rendering your stuff in 16 bpc? I never had any problems with Shine, so you may give 16 bit a shot. Other than that certainly you could have problems in FCP if you are using HDV/ DV or similar low quality settings in your project but that cannot be helped.

Hey thanks a ton! Upping it to 16-bit or 32-bit did the trick for me!
