transforming a video layer into particles
on Jul 19, 2006 at 8:33:29 pm

Hi all! I am planning on using a video layer and exploding it into particles. Can this be done with particular and any good tutorials on it?

Thanks Shimm

Set your emitter to Layer Grid and the sampling to At Birth. Then use whatever settings you want.

Thanks for your response. I had actually set it up that way after some trial and error.
The issue still exists though. I now have particles emitting using the layer as texture, but
the animation doesn't begin with my layer. The animation begins with nothing and fills in
with particles. I need to start with my video layer and destructively transform it into particles.

Any ideas
Thanks

Adjust the pre-run in the options. This will start the particle system with full emission rather than just needing to "rev up".
