Particular "Switch mode" request

It would be nice in future particulars to be able to keyframe the BOUNCE/AIR physics model mode. Why? Let us say you have a bunch of particles flying along a path and want them to slam into a wall or plaque Right now there is no way to do that other than build two completely separate systems and try to sync them up.


MAYA and some other 3D apps allow this, which is very handy.

Yeah, on some level I agree, but by introducing events and the tools required to actually use them (particle groups) you open up a whole can of worms. While I wouldn't object to having them, it is perhaps best to leave them in 3D apps where they make much more sense. On the other hand I see no reason why collisions couldn't be a part of the Air physics model...

unless there are internal data transfer problems preventing switching modes, that sort of thing would be helpful for some kinds of particle work within AE.

Granted, a fullblown Particle system ala Maya or Houdini can handle this, but in many cases the systems are overkill, as many operations require script programming.
