3d stroke - track the leading edge?

I have a bunch of discrete masks/paths I am 3d stroking sequentially. Is there a way to track where (on the X,Y plane) the leading edge of the stroke is at any given time? I'd like to lead the stroke w/ a flare or something. Thanks in advance!

No. Well, at least not in simple enough ways to make it work without turning into a programmer ;o). You should look into copying&pasting your mask shapes as motion paths or pre-rendering your movie and then tracking the head of your stroke.
