sound keys generates too many keyframes?
on Aug 6, 2005 at 6:21:50 pm

Hello all,

I just recently got Sound Keys to use with After Effects.

It seems to be generating keyframes for every frame, rather than just for audio peaks I have selected...

any idea why?

Thanks in advance...

This is normal. It's kind of a safety precaution - if you have only keyframes at your peaks, the interpolation inbetween might do strange things. Also it will already modulate the falloffs in a usable manner, which would be tricky otherwise. If the many keyframes bother you, you can always try The Smoother or manual deletion. Another easy way to "ignore" certain keyframes is using a simple clamp(min_value,max_value,input_value) expression.

Problem solved!

Thanks Mylenium. Only a newbie with Sound Keys.. How could I have missed that pull down menu - 'Velocity'?

Makes loads of sense of course... Its all clear now!

Great stuff... I can see this this plug in is certainly going to do the trick...

Thanks again, I'll return the favour some day...

God bless : ]
