I have a bit of a problem with setting Maya's environment variables. I've recently built a new workstation laptop that only uses internal SSDs, and since I don't want Maya to constantly write and erase hundreds of GB on them each day I was getting an external HDD that I only plug in when I'm working in Maya. I'm currently trying to figure out how to change Maya's playblast file location without changing Window's entire environment variables. Putting all the temp files on an external drive might become troublesome, as it's not connected all the time, so here I am trying to figure out how to only have Maya use the external drive. I playblast quite often, which sometimes adds up to 100GB of data written each day, and since these M.2 SSDs were really expensive I'd rather prefer to have these files written elsewhere.
