Converting from Low Poly - High Poly (3D gun model)
on Apr 23, 2017 at 7:45:00 pm

Recently, I got my 3D modeling submission grade from my L3 VFX and Motion Graphics tutor, anyways in the detailed feedback my tutor wrote "your gun
is rather low poly for a hero asset; it almost looks more like a game asset than one that would be used in VFX".

In conclusion to the extracted text, I should considered a more appropriate VFX model rather than a gun model as I didn't take a lot of thought in my final idea.
Finally, sorry about blabbing on but I've searched on YouTube and other video platform websites and I can't really find an good quality explanation for converting a low poly 3d model to a high poly.

Image- Here is the final submission render of the gun model: http://prnt.sc/ezylbv

If anyone can help me then i'll be very grateful.

Why not build on that model but creating more faces and adding detail.
Break it up into sections and build on it then merge or attach as one.
That's basically what high-res poly means to me IMHO.
So many references online for that.
