Mesh displaying and rendering incorrectly
on Jul 31, 2015 at 4:27:22 pm

I have a smooth mesh that is both displaying incorrectly in the viewport and rendering incorrectly.

There is nothing obviously wrong with the mesh (at least topologically) - and in fact when I first imported it (it's fbx data) it was displaying correctly - however at some point it stopped doing so without me doing anything (I saved a file and it was okay, opened it and it appeared corrupt).

Here is an example of how it's rendering incorrectly (left) and next to it is how it originally looked:

If I select the mesh and hit 2 and for the smooth mesh preview, that fixes it, however if I convert my geometry to the smooth mesh it is too dense to use.

Here is an upload of an obj file with the mesh - if anyone can tell me why it's rendering like it is, I'd be eternally grateful!

corrupted geo

normals can be fixed by making a box and attaching the hood to it.
