Advice on £1700/$2600 Workstation for Maya, Premiere, After Effects
on Feb 19, 2015 at 4:44:25 pm

Hi, Im looking for advice from much more experienced people than me (first time build) on whether this build list...
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/ratchvaux/saved/#savedb...
...is appropriate for the tight budget and the software I would like to run on it.

I would like to Run Maya, Premiere Pro and After Effects mainly but would also like to dabble in Nuke, Houdini, Davinci Resolve and Avid.

I would also like it to be as quiet as possible.

I will have a try at overclocking so am not 100% sure about the CPU Cooler or the motherboard.
This build is based on months of research. When I get a bit more money I intend to put more RAM in it.

I am also now thinking of maybe going down the Xeon route (maybe a Intel Xeon E5-2620 V3 2.4GHz 6-Core or Intel Xeon E5-1650 V3 3.5GHz 6 Core), any advice

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus X99-DELUXE ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2666 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Operating System) Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Data)
GPU: PNY Quadro K2200 4GB Video Card
Case: Corsair 330R Titanium Edition ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Pioneer BDC-207DBK Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Thank you for your time in looking at this and any advice you can give.

Oh I for to add I'm using an iMac 27'' but all the tech specs are pretty much the same as Richards.
