3DSMax 2015 SP3 --> Maya 2015 SP5 - Bones disconnect when transferring from 3dsmax to maya

Im interested in animating a character from the videogame The Wolf Among Us. Using a script developed by RandomTBush in 3DSMax 2012, I imported the model and opened it in 3DSMax 2015. As expected, everything worked correctly including bones/preapplied UV's. When sending the model from 3DSMax 2015 to Maya 2015 for animation, some bones disconnect from meshes.

Some other meshes with disconnected bones after transfering to Maya include the hair, eyeballs, tie, right leg.

Any help is appreciated :)!
