I'm having trouble with the transparency for a dgs material. I have a multi-component model and all pieces have the same material applied. I've added three simple keys- 0, 1, and 0- so it should go from being fully visible to completely transparent and back again. My problem is that only some pieces are becoming transparent. The others are just turning black. Also, the parts that become transparent aren't totally invisible- I still see a slightly shaded area where they would be.
Does anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong here? I've used Maya intermittently for a few years but would definitely not call myself an expert.
Hi, a few things to consider. If the shader has specular or reflective attributes then they will still appear as the transparency turns up and down. Next, is all of your model in the correct uv space? lastly are all of your normals facing outwards correctly. Thanks
