Modeling a Sofa with Trim (Pic Included)
on Aug 7, 2014 at 2:21:39 am

In 2011, I created this scene (the living room) by following a tutorial by ENVY in Cinema 4D. Now I need to model a sofa with trim, but I'm more skilled in Maya.

In the C4D tutorial, the instructor does the following:

Creates two edges on the sofa cushion
Converts the edges to splines
Drops the spline into a Sweep with a circle to create the trim around the cushion.

I'm not aware of the equivalent in Maya other than extrude along a curve. I don't see an option to convert edges to splines.

Any help would be appreciated because I'm stuck on something seemingly simple.

Here's the actual sofa I'm modeling. I'm also stuck on the creased part that hangs over the arm rest.

I think I'm just tired because I modeled something more complicated recently.

I have both Maya 2014 and 2015 with the latest Bonus Tools.
