I am looking to create an effect where when I render out a polygon model, it is "drawn" edge by edge in an intelligent, systematic, and creative way. Once the drawing is complete, all edges of the model (or at least all major/significant edges) have been highlighted by the drawing. Finally the render of the actual model blends in slowly, as the drawing outlines fade away.
So, for example, say I did this with a cube. First, the edges of all 6 sides will be drawn in order (not simultaneously, but side by side, side after side till all is "drawn" hence every edge in the cube is highlighted.
Then the outlines of the cube fade out, as the actual render of the cube geometry fades in.
