Polygon merge problem
on Jul 14, 2013 at 2:41:21 pm

I modelled a character in maya on a scene and modelled the foot on a different scene, I imported the foot mesh to the character scene, combined them and "merge the vertices to center"... normally this would work... but this time it merged but, left an annoying trace on the line that connects the two mesh (it didn't have a smooth blend), I tried bridging and all but the line still remained... The line shows a clear distinction between the imported mesh and the existing one.

Please any solution to this would be greatly appreciated... Thankx in advance

The "line" you see is probably just the UV border. Check to see if the vertices have merged by enabling the polygon GUI, highlighting the border and observing whether there are any duplicates. If all looks OK, then look at the UV layouts, select UV border. If the border is on the boundary, it defaults to showing a bold line.
