Sub Surface Scattering
on Feb 23, 2013 at 3:12:11 pm

Hi guys, I'm quite a beginner in maya, so excuse me if I'm asking something a little bit noobish. ;)

I'm working for a short, and I'll have to creare multiple trees in a fantasy world: their particularity will be the head of them. I'll try to be as clear as possible while english not being my first language, tell me if anything is unclear:

This trees will have domes on their peak, domes made of membrane. Their purpose will be to block the rain falling.. And here it is my doubt: how to create the right shader for them. I've been told that indeed I should use the sub surface scattering this time, and I'm here asking for some advices.

Do you know any tutorial, or could you guide me a little in this challenge of mine?
