- having a problem with applying a bump map (B&W jpeg image) to a curved poly surface in Maya 2012.
Image 01 shows curved wall without bump, lit with Mental Ray sun shows smooth shadow fall off from sun as wall curves away from the light.
Image 02 with bump, as wall begins to cuve away from light we have a sudden hard edge at the light/shadow tangent point. ?? - did i do something wrong?
- I was hoping to retain the gradual shadow as the wall curves away from the light and add the bumps of the stone wall surface as well.
