Maya skin weigth normalization problem
on Feb 10, 2012 at 4:25:41 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm currently getting a little frustrated with skin weigth painting of a rigged character. When I move an arm there are a lot of unwanted polys going along with it. I wanted to fix this with skin weight painting, but unfortunately I can't get it done...

Whenever I try to remove skin weights, Maya is moving these weights to another influence, making it impossible for me to remove the verts that are not supposed to move. If I turn the weight normalization to post/off, these vertexes with screw up, stretching over the whole screen if I'm trying to remove the weights from then.

Does anyone know a solution to that issue? :(

first hit normalize weights in edit smooth skin and then keep normalize weights to interactive method so it keeps your skin weights 0 to 1 range

hope it helps...
