Rigging a hydraulic claw in Maya

Having trouble with this one for a long time.

Im trying to rig the claw with an IK going from the Handle at the top of the arm (Where the two vertical rods/hydraulics connect) to the claw. So that as the hydraulics come forward, they push the handle forward in turn pushing the claw forward, therefore making it curl in.

I have it all working apart from the Handle to Claw part. The bit thats circled in yellow is not staying together. I have tried constraining it to a point, different variations of parenting, but it always slips out as soon as the IK is moved.

This is very important to ensure that it moves together as one unit. Any way to stick the bars to this so it wont move?
