I have a problem in simulating a bunch of confetti's pieces being emitted out of a volumetric cylinder emitter. I have gone through all the steps, the problem is the very beginning step where the papers are shoot out and loses their energy at a certain point in the air. I've done it with a drag field but it keeps them so tight together that looks unnatural. I need them to freely lose their energy.
Reducing the 'conserve' attribute of the particle object will cause them to lose their energy over time. This is a VERY sensitive value; try values like 0.995 to start with, and reduce it from there.
You should see if you can relate the rotation of the confetti to its speed. When confetti is drifting slowly through the air, it tends to be spinning quickly. If it's not spinning, it tends to slice quickly through the air with a thin edge and fall much faster.
