Character Modeling - One Object or Multiple?
on Nov 4, 2011 at 1:50:47 pm

Hi there,

I'm currently modeling a character for my animation. I was wondering if I should have him as one whole object, or multiple objects for each leg, arm, head, etc.

Thanks,
Spencer MacPherson

Both can work. It depends on the type of character and your rigging approach.

Usually one whole piece is better for organic characters, for mechanical or semi-mechanical character the story differs.

i dealed with two multiple kinds of rigs and all just work fine some of it the character contains of the body and the head, other contains of separate objects and others the hole body is one piece.
it depends on what you are trying to achieve.....
hope that was helpful....
