Maya expression error at handling a simple float variabel
on Oct 8, 2011 at 7:57:47 pm

Hello everybody

I have written a simple MEL float variable, but it doesn't get executed and MAYA errors:

// Error: "$randScale" is an undeclared variable.

I would be so grateful if anyhelp springs.

THANKS

here is the code:

pixiDust_particleShape.spriteTwistPP = rand(-360, 360);
pixiDust_particleShape.spriteNumPP = rand(1, 8);
pixiDust_particleShape.randTwist = rand(-8, 8)

float $randScale = 0.5;
pixiDust_particleShape.spriteScaleXPP = $randScale;
pixiDust_particleShape.spriteScaleYPP = $randScale;

You forgot the semicolon at the end of the previous line. That's why Maya isn't reading your float declaration properly.
