How to attach a camera to a Curve with an expression?
on Sep 13, 2011 at 4:21:44 pm

Hello
I have drawn around a curve in Maya. Then I extruded it into a tubular geometry. and the geometry begins to evolve along the path.the animation duration is 580 frame by real time play speed.

Then I have created a camera, but I don't know how to attach the camera to the curve/geometry so the camera get parented by the Geometry Evolution point. just as below:
Thanks

You could just use path animation to animate a locator along the curve and then parent your camera under that locator. However, if the extrusion is moving at changing speeds it might be tricky to keep them synced.

If you want a fully automatic solution, you might try duplicating the very last isoparm of the tube, then parenting / constraining your camera to that. Not sure if it will work, but it's worth a shot.
