toon outline problem
on Aug 31, 2011 at 7:04:42 pm

hi...this ones doing my head in.

my scene only has toon outline not inner shader.

i have alot of objects i have applied maya toon outline. ive played with some settings but the toon lines render over the top of other objects...when they should be covered(behind). wat settings should i play with or turn on/off?.... its nightmare. if i can solve this then no problem..boom render.

is maya toon the best to use? or is there a shader out there worth using?

thank you for your time,

If I am not mistaken you are trying to achieve a scene like an sketched objects on paper or something, which only the outlines are important for you and when an object is positioned over another one can cover the underneath one as well!
OK if that's the case, then you definitely need to use render layers, simply means rendering the different events in your scene separately and then compose them back in layers. If this is what you want, then you probably need to use "Use Background Shader" or "Surface Material" for your objects.
By the way, for more detailed answer your question needs to be clearer.
hopefully I could give you a right hint!
