Map Movie as Material for Polygon

I'm trying to map a movie as material for a polygon. I'm working on Maya 2008, mac. I exported the movie form After Effects as iff files. I used a blinn material to shade the polygon, used the movie button to map the material, selected all the iffs from my drive, and brought them all in. They seem to load. But when I render the polygon, only the first frame plays, getting stuck on that frame for the whole animation. I'm a beginner at Maya so please be detailed in your suggestions. Thanks.

The 'movie' texture is intended for use with movie files (e.g. Quicktime). If you have a sequence of .iff images then you want to use the 'file' texture instead.

Delete your 'movie' node and create a 'file' node instead. Load in the first image in your sequence and then click the 'Use Image Sequence' button.
