attaching Ncloth to other objects

Hi guys, im new to the forum and relatively new to Maya.

If it helps im using 2011 edition. Basically Im trying to replicate a spear, attached to the spear are wax seals with paper (thier named purity seals). I've followed a few tuts and managed to make a nurbs curve a cloth which seems simple enough. However, i would like it to obviously stay in one place, with the wax seal on top. I tried parenting the cloth to the cylinder which is a stand in for the seal, but that didnt work. Any ideas how to do this?

Much appreciated for any help give

I believe you will need to use an nCloth constraint for this. A Transform constraint would probably do the trick for you.
