Wallthickness of object/tower
on May 27, 2011 at 11:30:14 pm

Hi all!

I'm really new when it comes to using maya (architecturally) but I have made a pretty complex mesh with backturning double curvature etc, which is a design for a high desity housing tower.

Now, After smoothening the design etc I'm left with a "complex" shell, that needs a thickness to be structurally upholding..

Is there anyone who know the "comand" for this? I've been trying Mesh>Extrude, but as I1m really new to this program, I could need some help! =o)

Thanks in advance..!

It sounds like you want to select your object and then use the 'extrude faces' command. This will produce a thick slab from a thin surface, though if your curvature is complex you may find you have to clean up some areas.
