Do indirect passes support transparent PNG?

Do indirect passes support transparent PNG?

I've noticed that when trying to get an indirect rendered pass (using IBL as lighting) the transparency information from a PNG texture isn't rendered out (number of channels set to 4).

Why is that? and how should I render out that information?

if it helps I also seem to get the warning

// Warning: (Mayatomr.Scene) : output data type "rgba_16" not directly supported by image format png, conversion performed by mental ray //
