Camera Mapping Shadows?

Camera Mapping Shadows?

Hey guys,

Basically im using camera mapping in maya to create a student project, ive got all my mapping and my cameras set up. But i have to add animation, i have set up a simple tyre with a shader on it. I have a directional light in the scene to simulate some kind of controllable sunlight. I was wondering if there is any way that i can cast shadows from the tyre onto my projections as the animation happens in front of the projections.

Yes, this should be possible. When you project the footage onto the stand-in geometry, what material do you use and what channels do you have mapped?
