FX Tracking object using 2D Roto?
on Dec 22, 2010 at 3:45:35 pm

I'd like to have a guy (who is facing camera) get hit by a wave of water from behind (toward camera). Tracking his sweater folds and hoodie, and backpack, are a pain in 3D, but the roto artist (comper) has done an excellent job with a 2D roto, from the green screen we shot.
Can we use the lines, or create a geometry from his Roto that we can bring into Maya in some way to create a 3D hold-out object that the water particles can collide with? Obviously, the edge is the most important part in this case.
