per particle opacity to be derived from per particle size....?

Hi guys... I've got some sprite particles ranging in size.
rand(0.2, 1.5);
I'd like my biggest particles to be most transparent & smallest ones to be most opaque. Would like to know how to go about mapping this array of size values onto opacity. Nothing has to change over the particle lifespan, just want to somehow establish this size vs opacity relationship.
