Animating after an animation path...
on Nov 16, 2010 at 10:46:56 pm

(I'm a bit novice, I'm sure I'm making a simple mistake but I don't know very much about the actual animation features yet.) I am animating a dreidel to spin along a curved motion path. At the end of the path I need to key frame the dreidel falling down but every time I try to add key frames to the end of the timeline it breaks the motion path. How can I have the dreidel spin along the motion path and still be able to key frame the object later in the animation?? Thanks in advance for your help!

Basically, you need to group the object by itself just so that you can gain an extra pivot point. Make sure you center the pivot of the new group or place it where necessary.

Then, you would attach the topmost group to the motion path. After the motion path has played out, you'd go to the next node down in the hierarchy and animate the dreidel doing its own thing.
