I read around more on this subject, specifically about the anisotropic material and it was suggested that to get the correct look, you either need a complex environment, or you fake it... so I'm thinking HDRI lighting.
However, in class we're not using mental ray yet, is there a way to do HDRI with software render? I do have a small library of HDRI images, any pointers on how to apply them to my scene? IE: Do you apply them to the lightsource or to the object? Anything helps!
