Hi everyone. I was hoping someone could help me with a little issue I'm having. I textured this landing gear for a plane by doing it the old school way and painting directly over a UV snapshot taken from Maya. I'm texturing in Photoshop CS3, and I've built the landing gear and laid out the UVs in Maya 2009.
Ok when I apply the texture to the base mesh it looks fine, renders fine. When I smooth the model that's where the issues happen. My texture gets distorted. In my smooth options I have smooth UVs selected. I tried unselecting Smooth UVs and it didn't make much of a difference. It also does this when I use any sort of approximation nodes; parametric and spatial are the two I used. So it looks like smoothing it is also warping my textures. I've honestly not encountered this problem before so I'm not sure what to do and searching for solutions has be unfruitful. If anyone has any insight into this issue please let me know.
