Tiling textures.

Hello, this is actually my very first time on creativecow.net, I'm a longtime 3DS Max user currently taking a class in Maya. I wonder if anyone can help me with a simple question:

I have a floor and a seamless texture (hardwood tiles).
I want the texture to repeat 2 or 3 times on the floor, because currently the tiles look too big. My floor is just a simple plane, and right now it's mapped 1:1 in the UV space, so the tiles are repeated only once.

How do I make the texture repeat multiple times?

Thank you in advance for your help.

There are two ways you can go about this.

1. Find the Place2dTexture node for the texture.. (there's a ton of ways to get to it.) But.. Go into Hypershade. Right click the material -> Graph Network. You should find the place2dtexture is piped into the file node. Double click that to bring up attributes. Modify "Repeat UV" attribute to your liking.

2. The other way is to go into the UV Texture editor. Select the UV's of the plane. Then scale them outside the bounds of the 1:1 space. This is a handy way if you have multiple objects sharing the tile-able texture.
