Dielectric material causing headaches
on Sep 7, 2010 at 8:59:13 am

Hey Guys,

I am using a dielectric material to simulate a glass table. I have all of the raytracing settings up quite high but not matter what I do the outer rounded edge of the table is rendering very dark and black in some areas. I am getting very good reflection from it but its almost as if the rays aren't passing through it as I can't really see any transparency. Does anyone have any ideas cause I am pretty much out of them now.

Thanks

Matt..

Remember to set the max trace depth as the sum of reflection and reflaction, and check the environment color of the camera, as it can has some influence on FG and GI colors.
Remember to set even the photon tracing and the tracing of FG properly, just as you've setted raytrace one.
(obviusly only if you are using GI and FG)
