I've imported many .obj geometries into a new Maya scene and they came with no default shading network. So they show up as wireframes in the viewport, and when i hit "5" for the shaded view as well. And of course they don't render out.
I checked things out in the Hypershade and there are only 2 nodes for each geometry. A shape node, and some other node that i can't remember. I know there should be other nodes like "lambert," "light linker," and "render partition" to name a few. is there a way to quickly add these to each geometry instead of maually wiring each one?
I tried to cheat and middle mouse drag a lambert onto the geometry but no new nodes were created...Help!
