maya skinning

maya skinning

while i am long way down the skinning process, i suddenly see i need to move my bone a bit, any tool/script within maya to enable me do that without throwing away the entire skinning till now.

max has one nifty feature called ("always deform" in conjunction with a ref frame- you can uncheck this and change your bone position and check it again without losing any of your skinning.. may have to tweak but you wont have to start from scratch )

Sounds like you're looking for the Move Skinned Joints Tool.

[Animation] Skin->Edit Smooth Skin->Move Skinned Joints Tool
