I'm trying to animate a chalk line being drawn, using a paintfx brush for the chalk line itself. I've attached the brush to a curve and am keying the 'max clip' value on the stroke to animate it from beginning to end. What I'd like to do is attach a locator/particle emitter to the front of the stroke so I can simulate chalk particles flying up as it's drawn.
Just took another approach. I remade my curve, made a motion path with a locator attached to it, linked a ramp to the motionpath Uvalue node, and then fed that ramp into the paintfx stroke's max clip value. now I have the end of my paintfx stroke in the same place as my locator. Now I can parent an emitter to the locator and make my chalk dust fly!
