Maya graph editor problem
on Jan 8, 2010 at 8:03:21 pm

So I recently purchased maya to use for school and i installed it on my laptop which is relatively new. Unfortunately when I opened up the program for the first time and tried to use the persp/graph editor the window that is supposed to show the graph is completely blacked out. I can see all of the tools and options to the left but their is nothing showing in the window. I tried reinstalling but it is the same and my teacher doesn't know how to fix it. He suggested that it is a Vista problem but I have no idea where to start. The version I am using is the 64-bit 2010. Has anyone had this problem or can suggest anything?

What exactly, is a "relatively new laptop"? What graphics card, which driver version are you using?

I -very strongly- suggest you dump Vista in favor of Windows 7, but before you do, see if the laptop is qualified to run maya. http://www.autodesk.com/maya-hardware. If not, you may be wasting your time and money.

(Now if only instructors were required to make their students look up that page before they go off to buy stuff... sigh...)
