object/material ID renders as in max?? via rla/exr

in 3dsmax we can assign object ID or material ID to preferred objects and render out separate channels for them rendering via rpf/rla/exr.
does anyone know anything similar in maya.

PS: i cannot use passes, as it gives seperate layers, the requirement is so that i need it in one image, as channels.

ok i got it, used pass contribution maps and rendered out exr.
