Global Illumination/Rendering Lights
on Dec 17, 2009 at 5:24:40 am

I have a scene with a moving camera, and when I render snapshots within the scene everything is illuminated perfectly. However, when I render the movie, it shades and silhouttes my objects when the camera moves behind them. I realize the full illumination in the snapshot render is a function of modeling, likewise, I know how to
create lights to (theoretically) fill in the shadows. But I'm not
satisfied with this as it tends to flatten my textures/wash them out.
Is there a simple way to get the even, global illumination as represented in the snapshots to carry over in my global movie rendering without having to invent/tweak a bunch of extra lights?
